Why the hamster emoji?
I'm what some people refer to as gifted or high-potential. I have an IQ in the top 1% of the population. What this means is that my brain can function very fast, it doesn't mean I know more than most people, I just tend to learn faster, especially if it's something that I find interesting.
The drawback is that it can be very difficult for me to concentrate on something that I don't find interesting or worth doing, even if I have to. It also means that as soon as I wake up, my brain fills my head with thoughts and doesn't stop until I go to sleep. I think of it as a hamster jumping on its wheel and starting to run as soon as I wake up.
And no, I don't have ADHD, I've been tested and I can concentrate just fine when I have to, but ADHD and giftedness have a lot of similar symptoms.
